Dr. Julia Hibbing, OD
Dr. Hibbing grew up on a farm near Osage, IA and was the valedictorian of her class at Osage High School. She graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts degree in biology from Luther College, then moved to Memphis, TN where she earned her Doctor of Optometry degree with honors from Southern College of Optometry. She completed clinical rotations at The Eye Center in Memphis, Wolfe Eye Clinic in West Des Moines, and Vision Source Eye Care in Kansas City. After practicing in Cedar Rapids and Iowa City, Dr. Hibbing joined Mt. Vernon Eye Clinic in March 2022. She is a member of the American Optometric Association, the Iowa Optometric Association, and the Beta Sigma Kappa and Gold Key International Optometric Honor Societies.
Dr. Hibbing, her husband, Kyle, and their daughter live west of Mt. Vernon. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with family, traveling, playing tennis, and attending concerts and sporting events
Dr. Steven Sindt, OD, FAAO
Dr. Sindt, a native of Dubuque joined the Mt. Vernon Eye Clinic in 1995. He received a degree in Biology from Loras College and a Doctor of Optometry degree from the Illinois College of Optometry. He completed a hospital based residency through Ohio State University and the Cleveland VA Medical Center. In addition to being a partner in the Mount Vernon Eye Clinic, he is also on staff at the Iowa City VA Medical Center. Dr. Sindt is a clinical researcher, a fellow of the American Academy of Optometry, and has published several research papers. He is a member of the American Optometric Association, the Iowa Optometric Association, and is a former examiner for the National Boards in Optometry.
Dr. Sindt and his wife have four children. In his spare time he enjoys family, Hawkeye football, World War 2 history, and Disney World.
